When I am out dressed, which bathroom should I use? I would like to use the ladies room, but there could be trouble. Then again, if I use the men's room I could get beat up.

Dear Dorothy,

This is a difficult question and there has been a lot written about it. The short answered is use the restroom that is suited to how you are dressed. However, always be a lady, never stay any longer then you must, always wash your hands, and sit down.

The fact is that most Crossdressers are not gay. Many have a loving wife and children. It is a common misconception that Crossdressers are gay. The incident rate of being gay in the Crossdressing community is the same as in the community as a hole.

There are a lot of wonderful things that will happen if you start to take female hormones. However, there are lots of things that will change. In time it will be harder to be recognized as a male and wearing a tee shirt without something to hide your new assesses will present new problems.

Most people have a need to know the gender of the people they are dealing with. Women respond to women differently than they do to men and men respond to women differently that they do to other men. This seems obvious, but what happens when people cannot tell right away which gender they are dealing with? Should they be careful not to attract the attentions of the opposite sex or should they be greeting someone of the same gender? Should they be checking out who is the most attractive woman or should they be careful not to attract the unwanted attention of a man? Maybe we may want to start a relationship with this person. Is she or he cute? Questions like "Should I be attracted to this person?" can and does go though peoples minds.

There are also the changes that will occur in your feelings and emotions. You will cry without cause and may have trouble with depression. If you take high levels of hormones you will loose your ability to function as a male. In time you will most likely grow breasts. It is a commonly held belief that your new breast will grow to one size smaller than your mother's breasts.

There are lots of changes that will occur if you start taking hormones. At the end of the day you can take Breast forms off. You cannot take off breasts grown with hormones.

The choice is yours. There are lots of wonderful things that will happen if you start taking hormones. Are you ready for the changes?

Yes, and no, there is no single size conversion chart that really works. Women's clothing requires much more effort to size correctly. In general women's clothing sizes very from store to store. So having a single conversion chart is difficult. Start slowly to determine your size by getting something that is stretchy. It takes women a long time to determine their sizes and it is always a moving target. A good place to start is our Help page in the Clothing section of the web site. 

Please enjoy your dressing and start slow. You may find that the size you choose changes even without a change in weight. The size you choose depends on your taste in clothing as well as your physical size.
