| Question:
How is the adhesive applied to the Amoena Breast Forms? Is it permanent?
Do you mean that they are never removed or that the adhesive stays with the form permanently. My experience with "permanent" adhesive is that it gets a bit grubby after a while and requires a cleaning or removal and replacement. Also this type of adhesive seems to lose its stickiness as it becomes contaminated with whatever gets on it.
The Amoena adhesive does get dirty. Exfoliated skin, hair and dirt get into the adhesive surface. This is the big problem with most attachables. The Amoena adhesion system is different because you can clean the adhesive with mild soap and water. I have personally used a Luxa Contact for two years now. After washing them they are as nice as the day I purchased them. They do need cleaning. The more oil you naturally have on your skin the more you will need to clean them. I have to clean them every other time I wear them.
The adhesive is permanently attached to the form, but can be pulled away from the chest with a little effort. If you have very very dry skin
We would recommend a daily moisturizer or else it may be uncomfortable to take the form off at the end of the day.
Question: Are your Attachable Breast Forms asymmetrical as mentioned?
The Tria is a symmetrical shape and the Laux is an asymmetrical shape.
Question: What do Attachable Breast Forms look like?
They look real and move with you. The way you can tell that someone has on forms is that they don't move. With an attachable Breast Form, the form moves with you and they look real.
Question: How are they colored?
The color will most likely not match your skin tone. Your Bra and top will need to cover the form.

Question: Regarding the issue of color: You indicated that the forms will most likely not match my color -- what color are they -- very light or dark? do they have colored nipples?
The Breast Forms are light flesh tone and some non-attachables come in a
darker color. Look at foundation. There are scads of colors of foundations to match each persons color. Our
Attachable Breast Forms only come in one color. They do have raised nipples and some of the non-attachables come with a darkened nipple area.
Question: How would they look through a lace or mesh "see-through" bra?
The color of the Breast Form is good for a "see-through" look, but the change in color between the form and you will be detectable, if you let it show.
Questions: I have noticed on some other forms that the surface "skin" gets wrinkled after a while as if it has stretched and has no place to go. Looks somewhat diseased!?! Is this normal? How about the Amoena?
Bubbles or stretched outer coverings are signs of a poorly made Breast Forms. It can also be a sign of extreme stress to the form. For example, if you use our Hollister Adhesive to glue on your forms and then pull then off very quickly, it places undue stress on the bond between the outer covering and silicone of the Breast Form. Ladies, we need to be gentle with our
breasts.
Question: Another question on the adhesive, does it release when the skin perspires or gets wet otherwise?
The Amoena Attachable design allow for perspiration, the Hollister Adhesive does not. The Amoena Attachable designs are very wearable in that there is a way for the preparation to get out from underneath the form. With the Hollister Adhesive there is no place for the preparation to go, but then the Hollister Adhesive is not water soluble. The Amoena Adhesive is cleaned with soap and water.
Question: Is the adhesive tacky enough to support the forms without
Bra - disregarding the color concerns?
Many with very dry skin wear Breast Forms and the Hollister Adhesive without a
Bra, but it is very embarrassing when a Breast Form come off in the middle of the Dance Floor. :-)
Question: I have used an adhesive that irritated my skin (white in color, applied to the form and skin and removed with some type of solvent with considerable difficulty). What have you heard regarding possible reactions to the Amoena adhesive? It sounds as if it is fairly aggressive in sticking which is a good thing.
I have personally used the Amoena Luxa Contact Breast Forms for two years and love them! The Hollister Adhesive has also not been a problem for me and I have lots of trouble with skin irritation. I cannot use Tide laundry detergent without breaking out.
Question: Will the adhesive need to be replaced or refurbished at some time?
No, the Amoena Adhesive never needs to be replaced or regenerated. The Amoena Breast Forms I
personally use are as sticky today as the day I purchased them.

| Question: I was looking at the spray adhesive for breast forms. The forms I have
use tapes. I assume that the spray would work, but was wondering about removing the adhesive after use. Is there a remover solution like for
some other adhesives or do you let the substance build up on the surface?
We recommend using De-Solv-it to clean the Hollister adhesive off Breast Forms after each use. You MUST clean the Breast Forms. We are concerned that cleaning
your forms with De-Solv-it would remove or damage any current contact system on your forms. If the tape has all of the adhesive and there is no adhesive on the form itself, then we expect you could use the Hollister adhesive, but you would need to test the reaction of the forms first.
To test the form's reaction to the De-Solv-it, place a little De-Solv-it on a cloth or cosmetic pad and apply it to a small test spot. Then if the forms are not damaged by the cleaner, test the Hollister adhesive on a small spot on the forms. If there is still no damage to the form, clean the Hollister adhesive off the form with De-Solv-it and wash the form with soap and water. If there is still no damage to the form, then we would recommend using the Hollister adhesive on your forms. |
