Put on a
white top, fix your hair back and don't wear any foundation. A little mascara
is okay, but hold off on the foundation and eye shadow. Lighting is very important.
Find a window with lots of white sunlight. A bright sunny day is best
and avoid a very overcast day. Indoor lighting is not white light
and will make it hard to judge the colors.
Now try on
the Tangerine Lipstick. Take the time to apply the Lipstick well and
take a good long look. Does the color clash with your face or does
it flatter your skin tones? It is great to have a friend help you
evaluate the colors with an objective eye.
Now do the
Lip Flip Trick. Grab your lower lip and pull it out to is see the line
between the inside of your mouth and the colored lip area. Does the
color match or does it clash? People with warm coloring have an orange
cast to the inside of their mouth. People with cool coloring have a pink
or silvery cast to the mucous membrane inside the mouth.
Now try on
the Parisian Pink Lipstick. Does it look better than the Tangerine? Now repeat
the Lip Flip Trick. Parisian Pink is
a cool color and Tangerine is a warm color. Which looks best on you?
Which matches the inside of your mouth the best? If
you have cool tones to your skin you will look better in the Parisian
Pink Lipstick. If you have warm tones to your skin you will look better in
the Tangerine.
Another way
to tell if you have Cool or Warm seasonal coloring is the jewelry you
look best in. People with Cool seasonal coloring look better in silver
jewelry. Where people with Warm seasonal coloring look better in gold.
Once you
know if you are cool or warm we can continue with the distinction
between Winter and Summer verses Autumn and Spring.
If you are
a warm colored person, try on the Ginger Lipstick and take a good
long look. Does it look better than the Tangerine Lipstick? You may
have to switch back and forth a bit to determine this. Also, do you look
better in a Pink (Summer) top or a White (Winter) top. Most people with
Summer coloring look washed out in a very white top.
If you are
a cool colored person, try on the Romance Lipstick. Does it look
better than the Parisian Pink Lipstick? You may have to switch back and forth a
bit to determine this.
